Denis O’Connell has nearly 30 years of capital markets and structured finance experience. He was formerly principal of Genoa Capital Solutions, which provided structuring and capital markets solutions to the alternative asset management industry in the UK and Ireland. During his time in London, he co-founded Martello Capital, a private investment group, with the private-equity backing of the Julius Bar-GAM investment group, was a Partner at London Diversified Fund Management, a large global macro hedge fund, and worked as a capital markets and derivatives lawyer at Merrill Lynch, most recently as Counsel to Merrill Lynch’s Credit Derivatives and Structured Credit Group. Denis was educated at London Business School, University College Dublin Graduate School of Business and University College Dublin Law School. He is admitted to the New York State Bar and holds an Investment Management Certificate from the UK Society of Investment Professionals. He also holds the QFA designation.

Alex McKnight (CFA) has nearly 30 years of experience in institutional investment management. He was formerly head of GAM’s Strategic Bond franchise, directly managing more than €11bn in assets. Alex has managed nearly every facet of Fixed Income, from Government Bonds through to High Yield Corporate, Emerging Markets and Asset Backed Securities, together with associated derivatives.  He has also worked extensively with pension fund Boards and Chief Investment Officers delivering tailored investment strategies and product portfolios across numerous jurisdictions. Alex was educated at University College Dublin, School of Business. He is a CFA charter holder and holds an Investment Management Certificate from the UK Society of Investment Professionals. He also holds the QFA designation.
